If you've been following me for quite some time (I mean, like years), you may recognize this! I dug out my Fringe quilt WIP today, in hopes that I'll be able to start working on it again - now that the show has come to an end, it seems fitting. The quote is crazy long, and the quilt will likely have to be double sided: "We're all monsters. What's more remarkable is how many of us appear to be normal." (-Walter) The background green is Kona Peridot, and when I first started working on this quilt a couple of years ago I had collected a bunch of fabrics that fit characters and subjects from the show. Now that I've seen it through to the ending, I have a few more ideas on fabrics to search for. Digging this WIP out of storage is like revisiting an old friend, much like rewatching the show, as I'm doing from season 1! Now that I know how it ends, it feels like I'm watching it for the first time! So many little details to spot now that seemed irrelevant the first time. Such an incredible show. Anyone else out there watch it? If we're friends on Instagram (you can find me at "apriltwoeighty"), its likely we've already talked about it! )

I still haven't watched the whole series, but I really do love it! And this quilt will be epic!!
ReplyDeleteyay, fun to see this one out again! I have to admit that I didn't like the direction the show went after season 3. just felt so distant from the characters. but definitely great moments and do love Walter.
ReplyDeleteI felt that way a bit too, but I thought the ending did them justice. I'm going to miss it! Watching it all over again has been so fun though, season 1 is especially exciting!
DeleteThis post was my first exposure to this project and I love that you're doing it! What a great idea and so many cool fabrics you've found (loving the bowling balls for Sam!) I've been watching the series through Netflix, so I am still a couple of seasons behind, but eager to make my way through.
