i took so many photos today that i'm going to have to break it all up into three separate posts!
post one, here, will be about the maine state quilt show that i attended today. hundreds of quilts on display, such a great mix of traditional and modern, as well as an awesome merchant mall full of vendors from new england and beyond. overall, i think i spent about three+ hours there, being inspired, taking photos, and pawing through fat quarters to bring home.
anyway, onto the photos of some of the quilts!..... there were quite a few quilts made with batiks, which are normally not my thing - but it was fun to envision the design made in fun designer fabrics instead! ....there were so many i didn't get photos of, but i tried to photograph any that felt particularly inspiring to me, either because of color, fabric choices, or design. i used my macro lens to get the great effect of just focusing in on the parts that were most interesting to me.

Wow-weeeee! Thanks for posting those pics! I practically stared at every one! I'm glad you're breaking them up into three posts so I can take it all in. Fantastic! I think my favorite is the kaffe fassett little diamonds, I think it was, and then the little tiny squares of different colored flowers.
